Week of November 7th – Skillet Cider Apples (Available Friday, November 11th)
One of my favorite things is discovering the unexpected about something you thought you had all figured out….a new friend who is the absolute sweetest but then occasionally has the most foul mouth you’ve ever heard, or a woman who is super serious and organized but turns out is also a full blown adrenaline junkie. We’re all complex, thank goodness and so are my skillet cider apples. You may assume that these apples are just a sweet treat but you are mistaken. They hit just the right note between sweet and tart. The granny smiths are caramelized with a touch of brown sugar but also apple cider and vinegar. The result is a sublime topping for roast pork tenderloin or chicken thighs. Want to head to the sweet side? You can! Drop these golden gems on a warm waffle or buttered english muffin and drizzle with Vermont Maple Syrup. Whatever your mood, savory or sweet…you are going to love these Skillet Cider Apples (and my friend with the trashy mouth 😂). I honestly can’t stop eating these!
